Sometime since I've been in the garden
I've looked up through the trees at the sky
and I have had a strange feeling of being happy
as if something were pushing and drawing and making me breathe fast.
Magic is always pushing and drawing
and making things out of nothing.
Everything is made out of Magic,
leaves and trees, flowers and birds, badgers and foxes
and squirrels and people.
So it must be all round us.
In this garden ~ in all the places.
you have to think of something magical with this heat. it can be stifling, so ingenuis to come up with this now. the garden is indeed where wonderful things take place.
ReplyDeleteJoey,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful quote. It's so true!
Your angels are lovely. I have several angels to watch over my garden as well. Everything is beautiful this year, so they are doing a great job
We have been blessed with a relatively cool summer, marmee, but I'm praying for rain. Our gardens do sustain us, don't they? A creative way to spend precious hours ...
ReplyDeleteHello Ann ... glad to hear your summer is going well. I do believe that angels watch over us, beside us in the garden then never far away, hovering over us wherever we go.
Joey, magic is all around when we stand in our gardens isn't it? I love all your lilies but the laveder one especially. What an unusual color. Hope you get some rain soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Joey!...Thanks for visiting my blog!...I absolutely love that "magical" poem...and the photos of your garden whimsy!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, creative expression!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I never thought of it that way, but the garden IS magic. I love the surprises it brings each day. The magic begins when the petals unfold and the beautiful color bursts forth like a magician pulling scarves from his sleeve. Thanks for the thought provoking post.
ReplyDeleteLove all your statuary in your garden--I'm partial to angels.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it does seem as if there's magic in the garden. I just had a caladium magically appear!
I was trying to remember why Frances Hodgson Burnett's name sounded so familiar--isn't she the one who wrote The Secret Garden? I've always wanted to create my own "secret garden."
Indeed gardens are magic, Beckie. I marvel looking out the window during the bleak winter months at sleepy bare beds and wonder what is happening beneath, always amazed in the spring when the garden awakens.
ReplyDeleteWelcome spookydragonfly and thank you. Do hope you'll return.
Thanks Brenda. Alway a joy to see you again.
Beautifully written, Jane Marie. Thank you.
Yes Frances Hodgson Burnett did indeed write The Secret Garden, Rose. Hooray for your caladium! Secrets abound in the loveliest places!
