Joey, You have captured a portrait of the full moon just beautifully. I tried to do the same these past 2 nights - such beautiful and fiery winter skies. The moon was bathed in a wash of pink. I just couldn't capture it - so sat back to just enjoy.
Those leaves across the Moon sure make the photo. A lot of people will stop, point the camera and take a picture. Not knowing, or not caring to walk around and look at the subject from many angles. This would not be as nice or as interesting as it is without those leaves and I thought it was the new moon just a couple of days ago which was the largest for years. Is it that one?
It's hard to shoot the moon when it's so bright, Liisa. Often the night before and the night after the full moon work best. Enough to enjoy being bathed in the light of its beauty.
Oh, Anna ... you're too sweet ... I luv u <3
Yea, February, Donna! We're inching closer to spring :) So many seem covered in cloud cover, glad you were able to see the incredible moon.
Joey, I LOVE how your artistic eye translates so well to your images. Even if it were July, looking at this photo would make me feel cold and dark and clear... :)
Indeed, farewell to January, Frances ... another winter door closed :)
Dear Kim, you are always so sweet! Thank you. Keep close watch on your baby Meyer lemons ... I adore them and will occasionally peek in your nursery to watch them grow :)
Beautiful moon, Joey! I always enjoy learning about the Native names for the different moons. Farewell to January...and thank heavens February is a short month:)
Winter moons are just so spectacular, even moreso than summer moons, don't you find? Mind you, we missed Friday night due to the snowstorm, but last night we had the pleasure of watching the snowdrifts bathed in snow...Very soothing and lovely.
Yes, dear Rose ... spring is on the horizon, isn't it! Thanks :)
Why am I not surprised at your comment, Kiki! The moon is haunting!
Hope you are faring well from the snowstorm, jodi! Moon crazed, I love them all :) Lots of interesting stuff going on at your blog ... I owe you an e-mail, dear friend :)
I love watching the moon. My best friend is an astronomy instructor and has a really nice telescope. Not that the moon doesn't look great witht he naked eye, but you can really see cool details with the scope!
Wonderful image! Majestic.
ReplyDeleteJoey, I love what you accomplish with your photographs. Beautiful! The Wolf moon and a wash of blue... simply stunning. (we are entrenched in fog)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tatyana. The past 2 evenings were truly amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou are a dear, Di, and thank you. I visited and saw your stunning morning pastels ... your fog was a gift!

That's a Joey moon cause you are the only one that can capture it so well.
ReplyDeleteThe January moon gave us incredible moonlight, didn't it? But I'm glad to be moving on to February.

Good advice, Abe! So enjoyed viewing your cheery/colorful butterfly/bee photos that surely brightened up this gray day :)
ReplyDeletePERFECT!
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Thanks Joey, both of those are beautiful. We are glad to see the door shut on the rear end of January. Onward! :-)

ReplyDeleteWonderful photo. I watched it for a while from my window. So bright it cast shadows on the snow.

Thanks Marnie ... the moon put on quite a performance!
