or swallows returning to Capistrano,
but the sound of the bat on the ball."

Oh the sound of the bat on the ball... brings back so many memories of little league days gone by.
Not a 'big league' fan so much but college I like. Now my grandson (*sigh* getting too big too fast)is moved up to the real-pitch little league and we are having a blast watching his games.
Last night my son and I were having a phone conversation and he was watching a baseball game on TV. Don't tell anyone but he said he was so glad that a "real sport" was finally back in season. :-)

Happy Spring, Meems! Little League fills my heart with memories also. My husband coached until the boys started high school. Now, my oldest son is coaching. I don't know what I enjoy more, watching my grandboys or watching my son's face coach his boys :) I'm not a HUGE big league fan but I do love our TIGERS!
A fellow Tigers fan!!! (I grew up an hour south of Toledo... and when I was a kid, I wanted to be Alan Trammel when I grew up! lol.)
It's just not the same listening to baseball, though, without the wonderful sound of my boy Ernie Harwell. Oh how I loved hearing the sound of his voice on the radio every summer...
I hear you, Kim ... Ernie Harwell's voice is a 'National Treasure'!
